Our plane left Perth at 5pm and got into Melbourne at 11.30pm. We hired a car and drove straight to Warrnambool and to Mum’s, arriving there around 3am. There was nothing on the road, so it was easy driving, from Mortlake to Warrnambool, there was thick fog on the road.
Christmas Day, was a late lunch with Belinda and Andrew (and Soli the cat). A very lovely day.
We decided to see some of the sights of Warrnambool, Hopkins Falls, the Breakwater, Thunder Point and the Hopkins River mouth.
We had breakfast then left Warrnambool on 28 December and to drove to Drouin to visit The Albatross' side. We stopped in Melbourne and caught up with Kurt and David.
On Friday 29 December, Jen and Jack took us out to lunch at Brandy Creek for The Albtross' birthday. It is a lovely spot overlooking the rolling hills and the food is tapas style and delicious.
We went and saw Nana on 30 December and took her out to lunch. She took us to the “Turfside”, the restaurant attached to the local horse racing track.
31 December 2011, Happy Birthday to The Albatross! Karen, Russell, Jake and Peter came over for dinner, it was great to see the again. Golly, the boys are getting tall!
On Sunday 01 January 2012 we went to Jells Park and had a BBQ lunch and caught up with some Uni mates and their kids. It has been quite a few years since we saw some of these guys. THanks for coming along Susan and Stephen, Ray and Yen, Kevin, Ewan, Phil, Steve and Yokoko and, Cheryl and Jay.
On Monday 02 January 2012, we had lunch at Rossco’s Shed in Jindivik with Jen and Jack. We spent the afternoon packing our bag ready for our flight the next morning.
