When we woke up it was cloudy and raining lightly. Those spectacular hill we could see from our room, well, they’d disappeared behind cloud. After a slow breaky we decide that we wouldn’t go for a drive into the National Park and walk, but do a short walk around the Rio Serrano flat area. On went our wet weather stuff and off we headed. We walked for about 40 minutes before we decided that it was stupid so walked back. It was raining, we were getting wet, we saw some cows and geese.
So we stayed inside our nice comfy, warm and dry hotel. We needed to update The Tuna Files and sort through some photos and this was a good opportunity. So a lazy afternoon was spend lounging around in the large common area (where the wifi was) and reading. The Albatross finished ‘Cold Comfort Farm’ which he enjoyed greatly if the giggling was anything to go by.
We also spent a lot of time looking out of the window and commenting on the amount of cloud that was covering to towering peaks of Torres del Paine and how nice it was to be where we were and not camping on said hills in a tent!!! The mountains were covered in cloud all day, it must have been awful for those people walking and sleeping in tents.
This is the common (and comfy) area in our hotel and not an apartment.
