Right next door to our apartment is a park Cerro Santa Lucia, which basically consists of a big rock around which they’ve laid a maze of paths and gardens. It’s very pretty and nice and cool. Apparently Charles Darwin climbed it once when he was Beagling about and thought it pretty spiffy. As we were wandering about we came to a small terrace where a lady was belting out some tunes. It turns out we’d stumbled across a political rally trying to get a bloke to be the party candidate for next year’s presidential election. I think he’ll need a couple more supporters.
After a couple of hours stumbling about we went and had a rather lovely lunch in a shady café nearby, then a stroll across town to the fish markets to pick up some scallops and salmon for dinner. We were baking by the time we got home, but a quick dip in the pool fixed that. Rather a relaxing day.
